Google+ Communities
Google Plus Communities are yet another way we make our large world smaller. With Google+ you can join a group of people who have the same interests as you! Together, you can post many different sources to help others along their journey of life, or in my case, teaching. I checked out some awesome communities that I would love to share with you. Read about them below!

Teachers Help Teachers
The first Google Plus Community that I joined was called “Teachers Helping Teachers.” You can see why I wanted to join this group. What could be better than getting resources from people who are actually in the field I want to go in? The first post I saw was about Co-Teaching. We did learn about that in my first weeks of summer school and it certainly did appeal to me. There is even a twitter discussion that goes on every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month on twitter using #coteachat. The second post I saw was a free (that’s right, FREE) pdf file of some gorgeous pictures of animals. If they were giving out free picture books, the other possibilities for resources are endless! The deeper I dive into this Google Plus community, the more information and videos I see. I cannot wait to dive deeper into this and stay updated with all of the resources.

Ukulele
I entered this group for two reasons. One reason was that I love playing the ukulele as a hobby. Another reason is the fact that I would love to incorporate music into my classroom! I found a diverse amount of resources on this page. There were so many videos of people playing various songs on the ukulele, one in particular caught my eye because it was very impressive. Someone playing Stairway to Heaven on ukulele! It would be a real treat to play popular songs for the kids as a reward for good behavior. I plan to do this every few weeks, or maybe once a month at the end of the month at least. I also found out that you can make poll posts to help you make a decision like this user did! I thought that would be a very awesome feature to use if you need help. I can definitely see this community as being pretty active and really helpful!

Japanese Language
I decided to join this group because one of my big dreams is to teach English in Japan. I have been studying the Japanese language since my sophomore year in high school, but I still feel like I am at an elementary level of speaking. There are so many useful tabs in this community, such as Japanese resources, kanji (the hardest written language in all of the Japanese language), listening/speaking, and reading/writing. Japanese takes a lot of work to master, and there is such a large variety of resources such as videos and text posts, I feel as though I could learn a lot from this group.
